It’s Almost Christmas!

Christmas Day is just around the corner. I hope the busyness of the season isn’t stopping you from enjoying this special time. I’ve grown accustomed to running around and trying to keep a million projects going, but that kind of behavior has caused me to miss enjoying the season in the past. I decided I was not having it this year! Nope! Not doing it!

For me, Christmas is a time for spiritual reflection and celebrating love. I know people tend to associate Valentine’s Day with love, but Christmas ranks much higher in my book. Plus we get an entire season to celebrate Christmas.

If you’ve been following my blogposts this year, you know that I’ve been more intentional about having fun. So why wouldn’t I apply this to my favorite time of the year? Otherwise, I was afraid I’d look up on Christmas Day and wonder how I missed the entire season (I bet some of you can relate). I think I’ve done pretty well, considering I’m still working hard to promote my Beautiful, Complicated Family series and writing a novel. Make sure you’re following me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see what I’ve been up to, and let me know if I’ve done a good job enjoying Christmastime.

As we enjoy the rest of the season, I want to offer my sincere thanks to you for supporting my writing. One of the biggest reasons I write is to celebrate love. Thank you for joining my celebration. Sharing my writing with the world has been one of the greatest gifts that 2019 has brought me. I really can’t ask for much more. But if you decide to review my books on Amazon or other ebook vendor sites, review my books on Goodreads, or include my books in your Goodreads Listopia lists, that would be okay too. 🙂

Have a merry Christmas!

Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Merry Christmas! This is my absolute favorite time of year. It’s a special time because of my faith, and I also love that it’s a season to celebrate with family and friends. I’m excited to be part of the Christmas Scavenger Hunt Round-Robin. At each author’s blog post, you’ll find a question that can be answered by looking at their book’s free Amazon preview. You’ll need to provide the answers at this Google FormNote: You must answer the questions for every author in the round-robin to be considered to win a $300, $150, or $75 Amazon gift card. There is a link at the end of my post that will take you to the next blog, which will provide a link to the next blog, etc., to the very end.

I hope you have fun discovering some new authors and inspirational stories on the scavenger hunt. My flash fiction collection is called Beautiful, Complicated Family. It celebrates relationships between family members and friends—the ups, the downs, and everything in between. So I think it’s a great choice for Christmas reading. The stories in the collection capture struggles that are common in today’s families—secrets, mother-daughter conflicts, coping with aging family members, and a more subtle question of what makes a family. Unfortunately, we know that those issues don’t go away just because it’s Christmastime. In fact, they’re usually more active during this season. Most of us are dealing with heavy things in real life, so that’s why my author’s tagline is Uplifting stories with a little bit of hope, faith, and love. Like most families, the relationships in my collection consist of intricate elements. Sometimes things get messy, but it’s always beautiful.

I know it’s a busy time of the year, and it can be challenging to carve out time for reading. The good news is Beautiful, Complicated Family is perfect for when you only have a little spare time. The collection comes in two volumes. Each volume has five flash fiction stories (very short stories of 1000 words or less each), and each volume has a story with a Christmas theme. You can read each story in about 5 minutes. Volume 1 is FREE via most ebook vendors in the US, and you can Volume 2 for FREE by subscribing to my website (you can instead buy it from ebook vendors, if you prefer).

So, are you ready for my scavenger hunt question? What is the title of the Christmas-themed story in Beautiful, Complicated Family: Volume 2? Use this link to see my book’s preview on Amazon and find the answer. When you have the answer, fill out the Google form and head to the next blog!

But before you go to the next scavenger hunt stop, use this link to download my two free books. Consider it my gift to you! 🙂 And since it’s Christmas, I’ve included a bonus giveaway below for a $50 Amazon gift card (or $50 in books from Book Depository if the winner lives outside the U.S.). My bonus giveaway will end on December 16th at 11:59 PM EST.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

The next author on the tour is Carey Jane Clark, who is telling us all about her Christmas book After the Snow Falls. You can find it at this link – Remember that the scavenger hunt round-robin will end on December 16th at 11:59 PM EST!
